The title seems like a bad joke about Dragon Ball Z, but then there are times you can apply them, sadly, in real life. In a pretty recent video by AlphaOmegaSin, he rants about the selling of a cardboard WiiU that went above that number… in dollars. Now, that seems like a really bad idea to me.
Many people would respond to that: “So what? Everyone is free to do whatever he wants with his money.” I partially agree to that. There are crazy buyers in this world. Some buy the most useless things at outrageous prices. Even though many, included me, say that this is a waste of money, I have to agree that it is the person’s money. You pretty much can declare how well an economy is doing in a country by the number of weird buys at strange prices.
But what really gets me here is the marked that was created behind it. If you watch the video, you will see its author going through E-Bay and spitting a while market of cardboard “gaming systems” and its respective games. Now, that leaves me speechless. Having the opportunity to get a fully operational system at hand for less the price that I stated in the title and given how easy it is to cut a cardboard and paint with a black sharpie a few lines… I just can not understand the need to buy this way.
As of now I have three carton WiiUs that virtually costed me nothing. I just took some packaging from the materials we sell at our school, which our students throw away due to its uselessness, and I picked up a sharpie I had at home. I was thinking of even creating my game library, when real life called me back and I had to do some reports.
See what I mean? In a moment of boredom I was able to create what was bought for 90000 in mere days. Why is there a need to buy one? I really would like to hear the opinion of the buyer. This is definitely having too much money. One word for this person: DONATE! There are people who can’t even afford to buy food and you have time for a carton console?
Money issues aside, the idea that this kind of marked it possible just makes me wonder what is happening to the gamers today. I understand the long lines on release day. I understand, kinda, the buying of the game for double the price just to play it first. But the cardboard game just does not make any sense. At all.
I have been commented to sell my fake WiiUs. I wont. Because gamers don’t deserve this. Much less the fools that would pay more than one cent for this.
Well, I had to rant about this. Anyway, see you next time!
May they smile upon your way!
